The Type 2 Volkswagen Transporter, owes its existence to Ben Pon, the Dutch importer. He made the first sketches in 1947, but it was 1950 before the manufacturer caught up with demand for the Type 1 Beetle and put the Type 2 into production. It has been built in several successive models ever since. In addition to the van version, Type 2 VWs came as pickups and campers, as well as numerous aftermarket conversions.

An excellent example of the Deluxe 13-window Kombi or Microbus, this vehicle is equipped with fog lights, an aluminum-and-wood roof rack, a dashboard clock and a modern Kenwood AM/FM/cassette stereo. Immaculate throughout; it sports green-and-white vinyl seats for nine and a capacious cargo compartment at the rear. The chassis and undercarriage are likewise clean.
