The prototype (JCB 304) was made in 1975.

The first JCB Loadall - the JCB 520 model - was produced at JCB’s World HQ in Rocester, Staffordshire, on October 3rd, 1977 and in the first full year of production less than 300 machines were made by just a handful of employees.

In 1977 the wraps came off the Loadall telescopic handler, a machine which revolutionized the way loads were handled on both construction sites and on farms. The Loadall has gone on to be one of the most successful products in JCB's history.

A two-wheel drive machine with a 6.4m lift height and 2.25 tonnes maximum lift capacity.
