Hi, I was wondering how long does it usually take to moderate an uploaded picture? I've uploaded 2 pictures a few weeks ago and they're still pending review.

Thanks.

You both are right about something. However, all moderators are active on a voluntary basis. Nobody does it professionally.

There are currently around 120,000 images and 8,000 comments waiting to be moderated. And we're only a handful of moderators by comparison. But we're doing our best. :-)

Some pictures are double and triple in the inbox, some only in very low resolution, make wrong or completely unsorted. The oldest unmoderated images have been waiting for moderation for 10 years.

Some moderators are more familiar with buses, others with motorcycles and still others with cars.

In the case of pictures from countries such as Iran, it's also difficult (for me) to get information, e.g. to create a new folder. It would be helpful, for example, to provide as much information as possible. We are also happy to provide sources to contain inconsistencies between the moderators.

Woah, a decade and still pending review? That's crazy!

Have you guys considered recruiting more people to help out with image moderation? 120K images sound extremely tedious to go through. Either way, I wish you and the mod team all the best at this!

(p.s.: I feel like we need more English-speaking mods on this site since most of them are Russian...)

I've uploaded some pictures one year ago and only one was added since then. I might be wrong but I assume that the problem is not in premoderation itself, but in ignorance of moderators. You can see them (not all of them though) approving their own pictures constantly, but not taking a look at others. I'd describe my experience with this website as a waste of time, so you shouldn't really waste yours.
